P.U.N.C.H.I.S.
P.U.N.C.H.I.S is a collective of passionate DJS and music enthusiasts that have converged with the intention of creating the best parties around, founded with an emphasis on positive and wholly inclusive attitudes, and grounded and driven by an obsession for the latest in cutting-edge, underground electronic music. Crew Members: Ozuky, Efrain, Ben, and our Dj’s : ANGEL, DIIZEL, JEFF BARTOSIK, and JENS IRISH! P.U.N.C.H.I.S emerged several years ago before our eyes, when Ozuky, Ben, Efrain, Angel, and Jeff Bartosik met randomly through the music scene in Denver. We all shared a deep interest for the latest electronic beats. PUNCHIS is a word used in Spanish usually by those who don’t understand Techno which basically means “Upbeat”, as in the “Oonz, Oonz!” in English. We were told our music was too PUNCHIS, so the word came to be a part of the vocabulary among our close friends as a verb, noun, and adjective. We began to meet a great and eclectic group of friends in the electronic scene in Denver usually having House Parties of our own listening to the works of Sasha, John Digweed, Richie Hawtin and many other cutting-edge artists of the time. This is when Angel gave his first baby Steps at the Controls, getting better and better through many hours of fun and practice. We were so lucky to have met forward-thinking and innovative people who shared the same passion and love for music as we did. These visionaries served as a great inspiration for us whether as Dj’s, Promoters, Clubs, etc. Inspiration came from many sources, Wyatt Earp, DJ Fox, our good friends from MESS (Mother Earth Sound System), and many great local and International Talent. We greatly admired people like Crazy Larry who gave Denver a fresh taste of techno with his superb parties and Cassandra Montoya and Georgeana Frank who gave Denver Poptronica. Through many parties, new great friends, and inspiration from all of these wonderful people, it was inevitable for P.U.N.C.H.I.S to come together. In May of 2009 Beta and Beatport opened the door for us and gave us the opportunity to stage one of our first Successful parties in “The Beatport Lounge”, and also to open and warm up for big names such as “Audio Fly” from Barcelona at Beta’s main room, allowing P.U.N.C.H.I.S to take over The Funktion One System. Around this time, the amazing talent of DJ’s DIIZEL and JENS IRISH came in to the picture and, it has been history ever since. Thanks to the support of our wonderful and amazing group of friends, P.U.N.C.H.I.S is now recognized as one of the hottest Techno Crews in Denver, and our Djs are also now being showcased locally and abroad in Internationally known music websites such as Input Selector from France. P.U.N.C.H.I.S is more than an Attitude, Feeling, or Scene, P.U.N.C.H.I.S is a Movement
