Biography
I originally got my start in the Denver music scene supporting an entirely different genre of music than you may know me for. My love for playing the saxophone has given me to opportunities to travel literally all over the world. To speak about my envolvement in Electonic Dance Music would not be right without showing respect to the scene that originally cultured my love for playing and composing music. To all of my teachers, professors, mentors and peers that have taught me so much over the years, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience of being a professional musician. You all mean the world to me -Aquilae
Aquilae's love for Classical and Jazz music prompted him to start composing in High School, and eventually led him to The University of Norther Colorado where he received his Bachelors degree in Music Performance in May, 2010.
Aquilae has always had a love for Electonic Dance Music. Originally inspiried by classic artists such as DJ Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, ATB, and Paul Oakenfold to name a few, Aquilae knew right away that EDM would always hold its place in his life.
Aquilae was always an avid listener of EDM, however it wasn't until he met a local DJ in Dallas, TX that he realized his passion for producing EDM music. Colt Smith was the original person who taught Aquilae the basics of working the decks, and producing EDM through Ableton Live. Aquilae's first gig was a tag team set with DJ Colt Smith at the famous Lizard Lounge in Dallas, Texas.
Aquilae moved back to Denver in the summer of 2011. By regularly attending the local clubs and nightlife hotspots, Aquilae was introduced to Brett Alden, owner of Exodus Productions. Brett booked Aquilae for most of his first couple of gigs in Colorado, and played a huge role in introducing Aquilae to other EDM lovers in the Denver dance music scene.
Aquilae is now a resident DJ for Exodus Productions in Denver, Colordao. He has several big plans for upcoming new tracks that will surely keep you on the dancefloor all night long.
