While his production work spans the entire spectrum of bass music, Bro Safari has been relentless at pushing his unique take on the burgeoning Moombahton movement. As a result, Bro Safari is currently ushering in a new wave of listeners to the genre and he is set to be an early champion of this new scene.
With support from artists like Diplo, DJ Craze, Knife Party and more, it's becoming increasingly apparent that Bro Safari is someone to keep an eye on in 2012 and beyond.
ETC!ETC! gravitates his aural attention onto anything that moves the room. First attracted to Electro house for the big bass and floor-shattering fast-paced BPM, ETC!ETC! started to shift his focus to moombahton in early 2011 and starting to make an impact in the scene almost immediately .
In just the past 12 months he has been played almost on a weekly rotation on BBC Radio 1 by Kissy Sell out & DJ Kapyer ,and the following keeps Growing.
With an eclectic mix of different audio flavors coming out of his arsenal it's no wonder ETC!ETC! has garnered a diverse array of highly-prestigious support from EDM leaders Wolfgang Gartner, AC Slater, Congorock, 12th Planet x Skrillex, Mstrkrft , Dillon Francis, Diplo , Bro Safari & many others.
With multiple forthcoming releases on Mad Decent, Teenage Riot Records ,Party Like US, Rot10 Musik and T&A , 2012 will be a big year for ETC!ETC!
Constantly working hard to bring representatives to Denver including:
Luminox, CRNKN, HEROES & VILLAINS, ETC! ETC!, BRILLZ, and Trap-A-Holics. His live performances are setting trends throughout the scene and his music speaks for itself (http://www.soundcloud.com/vmaniscalco). Taking influences and samples from Big Room House & Dubstep Anthems, his remixes have gained support from artists across the globe (Foreign Beggars, Figure, Heroes x Villains, Luminox) and countless blogs (The Music Ninja, Ariel Noise, and Dani Deahl). Be on the lookout for new collaborations with Selina Albright, Whiskey Pete, and several other amazing vocalists in 2012.
From there, he went on to play shows with local alternative and indie rock bands around the East Coast. Later on he began taking music theory and piano lessons, and it wasn't until then that he developed a knack for creating melodies and general music production. In 2007, Phillips moved to Boulder to attend school at the University of Colorado.
Upon moving to Colorado, he was quickly immersed in its diverse and rapidly growing electronic music scene. In no time, he was spinning bars and house parties all around Colorado. In 2009, he teamed up with childhood friend, Tucker Wilde, to start the sample-based house duo known as Thick Chick. Phillips has recently left THiCK CHiCK, wanting to further explore different genre's of electronic music.
Always having a strong affection for hip-hop, Wicked Awesome uses this as a base for his productions. Being strongly influenced by Colorado Glitch-Hop and UK future bass, he continues to explore connections between genres and how to make people dance.
